Manchester City's sporting director Ferran Soriano has completely ruled out the chance of signing Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.
Despite City's financial muscle in the footballing world, Soriano insists there is 'no chance' of brining him to the Premier League and remains confident that the Argentina international won't be leaving the Nou Camp any time soon.
The 50-year-old got to know Messi personally during his tenure as financial vice-president of Barcelona between 2003 and 2008, and insists the attacker and his family are happy with life in Catalonia.

Soriano has said there is 'no chance of signing Messi' for City in an interview in Argentina
'There is no chance of signing Messi,' Soriano said in an interview with several media outlets in Argentina.
'I know him and his family well and I know they are fine in Barcelona, which is where he needs to be.
'We will make our way without him, which will be more difficult because he is the best player in the history of football.
'He changed everything, he is a genius.'

Soriano isn't the only person that insists Messi will ever play in England.

'When you feel at home and you win titles and you win individual prizes, finding all that somewhere else is very difficult.
'We know that the Premier League is a spectacular league but he has everything here, he would not find it anywhere else.'
The Argentine attacker will be in action when Barcelona host Chelsea in their Champions League second leg on Wednesday evening.
