Lewis Cook's late winner helped Bournemouth to a 4-3 win over Levante as the Cherries ended their pre-season training camp on a high.

It took just nine minutes for Emerson Hyndman to open the scoring before Jermain Defoe doubled the score almost immediately, only for Levante to hit back through Roger Marti's brace and Emanuel Boateng.

Bournemouth return to the UK for friendlies at Bristol City and Nottingham Forest before hosting Real Betis and Marseille ahead of their Premier League opener at home to Cardiff City on August 11.

American youngster Hyndman put the finishing touches on a fine team move inside ten minutes, sweeping home Simon Francis' right-wing cutback,

For the second goal Bournemouth attacked down the left and Defoe nipped ahead of his marker to flick home a Ryan Fraser cross from close range.

Yet Marti halved the deficit with a curled effort, before Boateng raced onto a long ball and slotted past Artur Boruc in the Cherries' goal.

Levante completed a remarkable comeback when Marti latched on to Ruben Rochina's through ball and fired in an angled effort.

A Bournemouth equaliser came just before half-time when 21-year-old Jack Simpson nodded home Connor Mahoney's corner.

Eddie Howe made 11 changes at the break, ensuring the second-half slowed in tempo somewhat.

Marc Pugh saw a cross hacked away, and then had a spectacular volley tipped over by Levante's goalkeeper.

Yet Cook conjured up a magical hit five minutes from time to end the Cherries La Manga training camp on a high.
